Cute, fluffy, sapphic romance with quirky, sometimes bordering on cringe and cheesy characters. Unfortunately I didn’t connect with either of the main characters. I loved the cottage core setting on a flower farm, but the amount of pop culture references was a bit much.

Dieses Buch hat mich unglaublich schnell von sich überzeugen können. Die Protagonistin Opal ist sehr liebenswürdig und quirlig. Dass sie ADHSlerin ist, wird schnell deutlich und ich liebe, dass Neurodivergenz in dieser Geschichte so völlig normal behandelt wird und einfach zu den Figuren dazugehört. Die love-interest Pepper ist nämlich Autistin und ich habe mich in ihr sehr wiedergefunden. Die beiden haben trotz anfänglicher Schwierigkeiten eine super schöne Verbindung zueinander, was auch Opals Geduld und Herzensgüte zu verdanken ist, da Pepper zunächst sehr misstrauisch ist. Die Story ist nicht sehr kompliziert, aber das möchte ich von einem Liebesroman auch nicht. Dieses Buch hat viele sehr liebenswürdige sowie auch frustrierende Figuren, die sich für meinen Geschmack sehr gut ausbalancieren. Das Ende ist recht “einfach”, aber auch das finde ich für den Ton des Buches sehr passend. Ich bin rundum happy und kann das Buch besonders neurodivergenten Queers empfehlen, die einfach mal eine schöne Liebesgeschichte lesen wollen, in denen sie sich repräsentiert fühlen.
Ich habe durch den Titel irgendwie was anderes erwartet. Habe mich zum Teil durch die Seiten kämpfen müssen… der Schreibstil ist gut, die grundlegende Idee auch. Aber irgendwie hat es mich nicht überzeugt. Am Anfang ging es mir auch sehr auf die Nerven, wie tollpatschig die beiden sind und wie oft irgendwas vorgefallen ist. Und ich bin selbst ein Tollpatsch. Es kam mir alles ein wenig übertrieben vor und zu den Charakteren konnte ich keine Bindung aufbauen.
Etwas anderes als das was ich sonst lese, aber hat mir gefallen ! Ich hatte das Buch angefangen, ohne vorher zu schauen was die Handlung ist und ich war positiv überrascht von der Repräsentation von Autismus und ADHS, was man jetzt nicht allzu häufig liest☺️ Die Story an sich war sehr süß, hat mir aber am manchen Stellen vom Schreibstil nicht so zu gesagt, da es manchmal etwas zu schnell geschrieben war oder an anderen Stellen zu lang🙈 Auch das Ende war mir etwas zu kurz, weil zwar schon ab 1/3 klar war, dass die beiden Gefühle für einander haben, diese aber erst in den letzen Kapiteln überhaupt ausgetauscht wurden 🙈 Der Epilog war aber eine schöne Ergänzung!
First of all gorgeous cover! First half - 2 stars. Second half - 4 stars. So I settled for 3 stars. First half: I found Opal to be rather annoying and honestly just very stupid. Pepper wasn't anything special and rather boring. I didn't see the chemistry or the tension and there wasn't really any build up to them eventually kissing. Second half: After the first sex scene things started looking up. I started liking the characters a lot more and thought they were very sweet together. Opal somehow seemed like a completely different character, which I personally preferred her that way. She was less stupid. The whole plot with that weird competition thing was rather boring and I honestly didn't really see the point? I thought the ending was weird, like suddenly they're sooo in love? I felt like the book could have been longer, more time of them actually being a couple and doing couple things (besides sex). Thought they were very cute, but still didn't really believe in their love.
