How to Get Filthy Rich in Rising Asia von Moshin Hamid erzählt die Geschichte des Protagonistin begonnen in seiner Jugend bis ins hohe Alter. Was mir besonders gut gefallen hat war die Erzählweise, denn das Buch ist in Form von einem Selbsthilfebuch aufgebaut und in der zweiten Person geschrieben, man wird als Leserin direkt als angesprochen. Es ist spannend das gesamte Leben des Protagonisten und dessen Entwicklung auf dem Weg filthy rich zu werden mitzuverfolgen. Auch wenn man dabei nicht alle Entscheidungen gut heissen kann, kann man doch verstehen wieso er so handelt. Gleichzeitig folgt man auch dem Leben eines Mädchens/einer Frau deren Leben sich immer wieder mit dem des Protagonisten kreuzt. Mir hat diese parallele Entwicklung gut gefallen und so sieht man dass doch auch andere Dinge wichtig sind als reich zu sein. Während es mir gut gefallen hat das ganze Leben des Protagonisten zu verfolgen machten die grossen Zeitsprünge es teilweise etwas schwierig der Geschichte zu folgen und es blieb eine gewisse Distanz. Insgesamt gefiel mir das Buch aber echt gut und würde es schon nur wegen der kreativen Erzählweise empfehlen.
