Description

Jack Campbell has just returned to his hometown after eight years away in the army, much to his family's delight, to rent the only place available in town. He quickly appreciates his luck when he meets his new lavender-eyed neighbor. Sally Smithson is the weirdo among the townsfolk, with her black house and hearse to match. Not many in the small New Hampshire town appreciate her sense of style. It doesn't matter either way to her. She has her two best friends, her cats, and her interior design business, which is all she needs . . . Until a rather dashing familiarly handsome man moves in next door-her high school crush, Jack-who finds her too enticing to ignore. She's sweet and loves her baked goods but is different from the rest of the country club-attending town. And he adores it. She intrigues, captivates, and arouses him. He can't seem to stay away from her. So, when the opportunity to spend more time with her presents itself, he takes it. When their relationship turns more than friendly, Jack is all in, but Sally is worried they won't fit together. It takes the support of her friends, old and new, to learn how to move beyond the gossip, to accept the affection of a man she thought she could never have. This book is intended for adults 18+ and contains sexually explicit content. It is book 2 in the series but can be read as a stand alone, reading book 1 is not required. For a full list of content warnings please visit Rebecca's website.

Sehr einfaches Englisch.

New favorite Book alert! Okay first of all: The fact that they‘re named Jack & Sally is already an adorable detail I appreciate (and it‘s mentioned too!). Second: Golden Retriever meets Halloween obsessed Goth? Yup it was bound to happen that I‘ll be fully in love with this story. It‘s well written, funny, dramatic but not over the top, slow burn yet fast burn and just the right amount of spice. 10/10 would recommend this to all Halloween lovers 🎃

“You, Sally Smithson, are the only one consuming my every thought. You are the one I can’t stop thinking about and want. In my life, my home, my bed. It’s you. No one else.”

It was super sweet and cozy. I actually liked everything about it. There was no drama, and the ending was just great. The only cringe was the nickname he had for our protagonist. Kitten is just not my cup of tea. I definitely recommend it for fall and Halloween.

„Just because I liked pumpkin spice and hazelnut year round doesn’t mean there’s something wrong with me, mom.“ 🎃

How does this book have more than 4 stars?? I am a big fall and Halloween fan and love goth, so I need to at least give it two stars. But there is so much wrong about the book: - many misspellings and switched up words - the MMC used “female” instead of “woman” - the FMC gets asked, if she wants kids the second she meets her mother in law - while describing why the MMC loves the FMC he also counts her nonexistent gag reflex… in two different scenes! I don’t know.. I hate saying this, but I feel like it’s written by a man… the MMC has way more depth and character than the FMC, who is just descripted as small, petite with a tiny waist and high tits, the perfect hourglass figure and is dressed Halloween themed year round (and we don’t even know why?) … I don’t feel like a woman would create such a shallow female character…
