Mara and Owen are as close as twins can get, so when Mara’s friend Hannah accuses Owen of rape, Mara doesn't know what to think. Can her brother really be guilty of such a violent act? Torn between her family and her sense of right and wrong, Mara feels lost, and it doesn’t help that things are strained with her ex-girlfriend, Charlie. As Mara, Hannah, and Charlie come together in the aftermath of this terrible crime, Mara must face a trauma from her own past and decide where Charlie fits into her future. With sensitivity and openness, this timely novel confronts the difficult questions surrounding consent, victim blaming, and sexual assault.

— 2,90 estrellas.
I can't find words to express what this book means to me. Never have I read anything like it, never have I connected more to a story, a character. And never have I read a book and felt so understood. I love how this topic was handled, delicate and yet loud enough. I adore the friendships in it. I adore everything about it. And it's so beautifully written, I want the whole world to read it. Because it's still necessary. Because our world and our society still isn't as it should be. I admit I'm an emotional wreck now, and I probably triggered myself too much with it, because I'm not as far in my journey to healing as I wish I'd be. But that's ok. I will be ok. To finish this with a quote, probably my favorite line of this book: "It’s changed me forever, but changed doesn’t have to mean broken."
