I loved the first three books, but this one was a bit of a disappointment. Too much action, too little mystery and tension. And every monster is the biggest, creepiest and ugliest... until the next one enters the stage. Also I don't really like the whole "Nazis did it" thing. Maybe it's because I'm german and Nazis are a big part of our education (rightfully so). It's bad enough that there are actual fascists in our government right know, I just don't want them in my fiction.
