Foreign Policy in the Greater Middle East

The book is intended to serve as an introduction to the foreign policy of Middle Eastern countries. In order to create compatibility of the individual contributions, the essays have a similar structure. The following determinants are examined in relation to the foreign policy of 13 states under discussion - Basic historical data regarding foreign policy and the applicable international environment; basic factors determining foreign policy; decision processes for foreign policy; security policy after 9/11/2001 and perspectives on future foreign policy. At the conclusion of each article there is a select bibliography. No one ideal approach exists in the analysis of foreign policy - happily - and the individual authors have submitted many different modes of analysis.
