Dies ist der dritte und somit abschliessende Teil der Trilogie um Darth Bane. Schon von vornherein wissen wir, dass der Kampf zwischen Bane und Zannah unweigerlich bevorsteht. Auch das Buch steigert sich mehr in mehr in diese Richtung. Es erinnert tatsächlich an ein Finale einer WM. Zwei starke Gegner treffen aufeinander und die Spannung ist bis ins Letzte spürbar. So auch in diesem Buch. Mehr als die Vorgänger kommt es hier zu Kämpfen und Actionszenen, die jedoch alle gut und flüssig beschrieben sind, sodass sie der Spannung keinen Abbruch tun. Auch tauchen Figuren aus der Vergangenheit wieder auf und runden so das Leseerlebnis dieser Trilogie ab. Fast schon schade, dass es vorbei ist.
