This is the best book of this series so far and I enjoyed almost everything of it. The beginning was great - I couldn't get enough of it/them! ;) And also throughout the passion was incredible, sometimes you hate Jericho, then you love him again... but I'm sure in the end we'll see the reason for his "sometimes - Jackass behavior" and that deep in his heart he's one of the good guys! And that Jericho and Mac finally be together - I adore them together - they are great! :) Handlung: Die Welt zwischen den Menschen und den Feen ist zu einer Welt verschmolzen, Mac konnte es nicht verhindern und die Mauern zwischen diesen zwei Welten, welche nie hätten vermischt werden sollen, sind gefallen. Auch in Mac ist etwas gestorben und sie hat keine Erinnerungen mehr, durch das was ihr der Lord Master und die dunklen Feenprinzen angetan haben. Jericho Barrons rettet sie aus den Händen von Rowena und den Sidhe Seers, die sie wie eine Aussätzige behandeln und zum Sterben in einem Keller liegen lassen, und bringt sie und ihren Verstand wieder zurück. Doch das war nur der erste harte Weg den Mac in diesem Teil bestreiten musste, viele liegen noch vor ihr,… Wege die auch ihre Eltern bedrohen und auch sie selber und niemand kann ihr helfen, niemanden kann sie vertrauen, nicht mal sich selbst… Meine Gedanken: Das ist mit Abstand das beste Buch dieser Serie! Ich habe es genossen und fast das ganze Buch war toll. Der Anfang war einfach unglaublich und ich bekam fast keine Luft mehr… ich liebe es!! (Wer das Buch gelesen hat, weiß welche Szenen ich hier meine) Mein Gott, es war einfach unbeschreiblich knisternd, erotisierend und prickelnd. Ein Wahnsinns- Gefühl, dass ich noch nie in einem Buch gelesen habe und man konnte einfach nicht genug davon bekommen – Klasse Frau Moning. :) Und obwohl die Leidenschaft im ganzen Buch nicht zu fassen war, war es so, dass man Jericho manchmal gehasst hat und danach wieder geliebt. Er ist einfach ein unbeschreiblicher Charakter, ein wahnsinniger Mann, aber ich bin mir sicher am Ende dieser Serie werden wir alle wissen was er ist und warum er sich manchmal so abweisend und kühl verhält. Ich bin mir ganz sicher dass uns noch ein tolles Finale bevor steht in dem die Leidenschaft zwischen Mac und Jericho keine Grenzen kennen wird – ich freu mich darauf! :o) Abgesehen von der ‚Liebesgeschichte‘, wenn man es den so nennen möchte, muss ich sagen, dass auch die Handlungsstränge im allgemeinen immer interessanter uns spannender werden und langsam die ersten wichtigen Fragen eine Antwort finden und Dinge erklären. Meiner Meinung nach hat Moning bisher einen sehr passablen Job abgeliefert und wenn sie so weiter macht, wird der letzte Teil einfach atemberaubend gut werden! Cover: Klasse ‘Pose’ von Mac auf dem Cover mit ihrem Sperr in der Hand. Gefällt mir wahnsinnig gut. Fazit: Umwerfende und spannende Geschichte, die einem in andere Welten versetzt und man danach total schockiert aufsieht, wenn man wieder zu sich kommt und bemerkt wo man sich eigentlich befindet. :)
Okay, so...<spoiler>Mac has been raped by the evil fae, which now makes her a fae sex addict, and Barrons is taking one (several) for the team and fucks her back to sanity, several times a day, over several months. So, raping her. For her own good.</spoiler>And that is a choice the author made.And of course through her <spoiler>magic rape</spoiler> she unlocks new special magical girl abilities.Also she now gets wet every time Barrons is near.Barrons repeatedly reminds her of both things and continues to be lewd, but he's hot, so that's okay and she stays with him, for ... whatever reason. I mean, it's not like she didn't have other options.Also, this is the fourth book and Barrons still tells Mac nothing about his plans, the context of all the stuff that's happening, what she is, what he is, his goals when they go out and to something, but he expects her to do exactly as he tells her all of the time - oh, and also be grateful.But he's hot, so that's okay I guess.At this point, he's even more of an annoying brat than she is. And that's saying something.At some point, she's actually starting to make coherent plans and do things, and it actually started to work. That peaked my interest and I thought, maybe this is where it gets better. Maybe we had to wade through the absolut shithole that is her <spoiler>magical rape</spoiler> to come out the other side, for whatever reason the author can think of to explain that decision.But sadly, it doesn't last long and we are thrown right into an annoyingly lengthy chain of random encounters only to end on a cliffhanger that makes Mac not only wallow in her self pity even more, but which she sees as the most devastating thing that's ever happend to her and - girl, did you not read the first chapters of this installment of your own story!?Her inner monologue continues to annoy the everlasting fuck out of me. She still explains every possible meaning of every event, preferably by asking herself endless questions, because apparently we as readers are too dumb to come to any conlusions oureselves.I am now 4 books in and despite what I was promised, I have given up hope that this series will get better (which means I am open to be pleasantly surprised), but I have also wasted so much of my time and suffered so much that I cannot simply stop and admit to myself that this time was really, truly, wasted. Just like Mac, I am drawing the dumbest possible conclusion here and refuse to think critically or accept any sensible advice.I mean, by this point the author herself feels the need to add an author's note in which she promises things will get better. Not sure what she thinks this says about her book, but I'm pretty sure it doesn't say what she thinks it does.
