Was Historienkrimis angeht, würde ich die von Anne Perry immer zur Spitzenklasse zählen. Hier stimmt sowohl das historische Setting als auch die Krimikomponente. Hier fand ich den Fall nicht ganz so spannend, wobei die Hintergründe über antisemitische Vorurteile durchaus bedrückend und bedrückend aktuell waren. Es war aber wieder ein schönes Eintauchen in das viktorianische London, das ich sehr genossen habe. Und der Gastauftritt von Oscar Wilde ist eine positive Erwähnung wert.
I was really looking forward to finalky read this book, but sadly it didn't live up to my expectations. The only page-turner parts were the beginning and the last 50 pages. My German edition was piked with errors, full stops in the middle of sentences, missing quotation marks and so on, which sadly didn't help. I do like Thomas Pitt and his wife Charlotte, but the story was too slow for my taste.
