Eine Kleinstadt in Amerika. Keine Kriminalität, jeder kennt jeden. Ein Paradies. Oder? Eines Tages ändert sich aber alles. Ein fremdes Mädchen taucht nackt im Diner auf, Vögel stürzen vom Himmel und nach und nach versinkt die Stadt in einer Spirale aus Gewalt. Das erste Drittel zieht sich ein bisschen, die Geschichten, wie alles aus dem Ruder läuft. Und irgendwie kommt einem das auch alles bekannt vor. Solche Geschichten gab es schon in anderen Büchern und man hat sie in Filmen oder Serien gesehen. Es wird dann aber trotzdem spannend und man will wissen, wie es weitergeht. Das Problem ist, dass zu viel gemixt wird: Thriller, Mystery, True Crime, Detektiv-Kids, ... Alles in einem. Die letzten Kapitel sind "seltsam", die Auflösung fand ich gut, aber wenn man länger darüber nachdenkt, hat man mehr Fragen als Antworten.
