The perfect book to get you in the Christmas spirit!
„Christmas on Fifth Avenue“ radiates an incredibly cosy atmosphere and lots of Christmas magic. The book creates exactly the kind of vibe you would imagine New York to have at Christmas time. It's a real feel-good book. The individual characters were incredibly well developed and detailed. Each one had something unique about them. Even though there were quite a few of them, it didn't feel overloaded. I found Evie's development particularly beautiful and meaningful. It was easy to empathise with her, and I really enjoyed witnessing her personal journey / growth. However, I found Noah's development a bit linear, I would have liked to see more of his thoughts, inner conflicts and growth, perhaps through additional POVs. I really enjoyed watching Evie and Noah get to know each other and slowly grow closer – their relationship felt real and emotional to me. The pace was just right too. The writing style is very fluid and pleasant, so I basically flew through the pages.

So, I don't wanna call this book basic, BUT from time to time it might have been. On one hand, that was exactly what I was looking for (so who am I to judge), and it truly checked all the boxes I want in a fun Christmas romance — including the very festive NYC setting, many holiday activities, and heart-warming characters you just have to love. On the other hand, I wouldn’t have minded a little more plot about Noa and Evie’s individual lives, independently from their relationship. Secondly (in my opinion), the 3rd-act breakup felt very random, and the TikTok career… well, I doubt you can make it on that platform with that kind of long-form content. Anyways, not to paint this book in a worse light than it actually deserves: Especially the picturesque, dazzling description of the festive Plaza and NYC was doing it for me — the decorations, luxurious interior, the kind staff who took Evie under their wings from day one. I adore that kind of vivid detail. Not to forget the one or other peek behind the curtains of the famous luxury hotel. Aka the book did a great job transmitting the festive atmosphere to us readers and was entertaining!

It was a cute romance and I LOVE New York, that’s the reason why I bought the book in the first place. I loved how excited she was about going and how she met Noah on the airport and saved him. Even tho he was the reason she got bashed on the internet…by him and only found out when she was sitting next to him on the plane. That was kinda funny lol. 😂 But the book felt so drawn and I was waiting and waiting. I mean there was stuff happening. I just felt that I’ve read better books. It was a cozy romance with not so much drama, still a little drama tho.
Christmas on Fifth Avenue hat mir sehr gut gefallen – besonders das stimmungsvolle, weihnachtliche Setting in New York, das sofort für Wohlfühlatmosphäre sorgt. Die Enemies-to-Lovers-Handlung ist charmant umgesetzt, und beide Protagonist:innen waren mir von Anfang an sehr sympathisch. Ihre Neckereien sind herrlich amüsant und haben mich oft schmunzeln lassen. Die sich entwickelnde Liebesgeschichte ist gut nachvollziehbar, warmherzig und einfach unglaublich süß. Zwar gibt es ein paar kleine Logikschwächen, über die ich aber problemlos hinwegsehen konnte, da sie den Lesespaß kaum beeinträchtigen. Insgesamt ist es ein leichtes, herzerwärmendes Buch, das sich wunderbar lesen lässt und perfekt in die Weihnachtszeit passt – ideal für gemütliche Stunden mit einer Tasse Tee und Lichterglanz. 🎄✨
