Vor Dracula kam Carmilla
Dieser Klassiker stand schon lange auf meiner Wunschliste und ich bin sehr froh ihn endlich gelesen zu haben. Ich fand es spannend, dass diese Vampirgeschichte bereits über 20 Jahre vor Dracula erschienen ist. In der Geschichte geht es um Laura, die mit ihrem Vater in einem abgeschiedenen Schloss lebt. Eines Tages taucht eine wunderschöne junge Frau auf, Carmilla. Laura und ihr Vater nehmen sie bei sich auf, doch kurz danach beginnt Laura furchtbare Alpträume zu haben und wird mit jedem Tag schwächer. Ich mochte die Geschichte sehr gerne. Die Verbindung zwischen Carmilla und Laura war faszinierend gerade für den Zeitkontext, in dem das Buch erschienen ist. Das Ende war mir dann aber etwas schnell. Da hätte ich mir noch ein paar Seiten mehr gewünscht um den ganzen Schauer der Geschichte zu erleben. Alles in allem ein wirklich guter Schauerklassiker, den ich jeder Person nur empfehlen kann. Auch auf Englisch war es ganz gut zu verstehen. Dieses Buch werde ich definitiv noch einmal lesen.
