2,5 stars I really don't know what to make of this book yet. I've finished it, but I still can't decide whether I like it or not. Right now, it's more of a "meh". It wasn't bad, but it didn't knock me flat on my butt either. Granted, I've already read a trilogy that circled around a Cambion. And I love those 3 books to teeny tiny little pieces. So maybe 'The Cambion Chronicles' is at an unfair disadvantage due to me comparing it to that trilogy. Overall, I liked the idea of the book, I liked where it was going. Towards the end, something very unexpected happened (which was when the story actually started getting my full attention). I guess my main problem was the way it was written. More often than not it felt forced. Like the author tried way too hard at sounding like the words just flowed out of her hands and onto paper. A lot of descriptions were unnecessarily drawn out, sometimes I even wondered what the hell she was trying to say with those labyrinth-like sentences. The ending definitely has me interested in the other 2 books though. So maybe I will like those better.
