Botticelli in the Fire imagines the famed painter of The Birth of Venus, Sandro Botticelli, as an irrepressible seeker of love and pleasure caught between the powerful Medici family, the firebrand teachings of a zealot friar, and his young lover, Leonardo da Vinci.
