Soon Clara is plagued by her victims and at war with the gifted girls in her care. Lily and Violet have become a liability—and they know far more than they should. . . .

Ich hatte solche Lust auf dieses Buch und liebe auch das Cover total! Nachdem ich das Buch nun gelesen habe, sogar noch mehr – solltet ihr es lesen, werdet ihr wissen, warum. Die Kapitel sind ziemlich kurz und es gibt drei POVs: Clara, Lily und Violet. Clara ist – wie man im Ausschnitt schon gut erkennen kann – eine extrem unsympathische und egoistische Person. Mir tat es so leid, dass die Schwestern ihr so ausgeliefert waren. Doch meine Abneigung gegenüber Clara hat nicht dazu geführt, dass ich die Geschichte weniger mag, denn sie muss genau so sein, und ich konnte auch verstehen, warum sie so geworden ist. Der Zusammenhalt der Schwestern ist so schön, und ich habe geliebt, wie beide füreinander einstehen und sich trotz des Verlusts ihrer Eltern nicht unterkriegen lassen. Ich habe aus gesundheitlichen Gründen ziemlich lange für das Buch gebraucht, doch im Nachhinein bin ich froh darüber – denn so hatte ich mehr Zeit mit der Geschichte. Ich fand insbesondere den übernatürlichen Part extrem toll, da er anders war als alles, was ich bisher kannte. Ich muss immer wieder an die Geschichte und die Schwestern denken und dieses Buch hat mir so unglaublich viel gegeben. Und ich liebe es immer mehr, je öfter ich daran denke. Das ist so ein Buch, das ich gerne noch mal zum ersten Mal lesen würde – und sicherlich auch irgendwann rereaden werde. Es hat einfach mein Herz und ist direkt ein Jahreshighlight (safe auch Lebenshighlight) geworden. Sicherlich wird es mich nie mehr loslassen. Fazit: Eine unfassbar starke und besondere Geschichte, die ich für immer lieben werde. Ehrlich gesagt komme ich auch gar nicht drauf klar, wie sehr ich es liebe. Ich kann nichts weiter sagen, außer: Lest dieses Buch! Ich werde definitiv auch alle anderen Bücher der Autorin lesen und bin schon ganz gespannt drauf.
