Das war mein erstes Buch, dass ich freiwillig auf englisch gelesen habe. Ich wollte schon länger ein Buch dieser Autorin lesen, habe aber nichts dazu gefunden, dass es diese irgendwann in Zukunft auf deutsch geben könnte. Das Buch zu lesen war echt angenehm. Der Schreibstil ist einfach und angenehm. Natürlich habe ich nicht alle einzelnen Worte verstanden, aber trotzdem sogut wie alles. Die Geschichte von Athena und Matthew ist wirklich wunderschön, auch wenn sie recht holprig anfängt. Ich denke auch, dass es nicht jedermanns Sache ist, wenn die Protagonistin und der Bruder ihres Ex-Verlobten anbandeln. Das war recht schwierig, auch wenn man bedenkt, was alles vorgefallen ist. Jonny tat mir irgendwie leid. Aber noch mehr konnte ich mich für Matthew freuen. Und Achtung, das war mir auch nicht ganz bewusst, aber es wird stark das Thema Depressionen behandelt. Das ist als Triggerwarnung vielleicht nicht zu unterschätzen, da ich finde, dass das Thema ziemlich präsent war. Ansonsten war es wirklich eine tolle und berührende Geschichte.
