Description
Shinta Arakawa wants nothing more than to pass his shin’uchi exam—the test that would make him a top-rank headliner and master storyteller in the traditional Japanese art of rakugo. Akane Osaki, his daughter and biggest fan, spies on him while he practices and learns his routines for herself. When rakugo master Issho Arakawa expels everyone after the exam with no explanation, a fire is lit inside Akane. From that day forth, she has had one goal—to avenge her father and prove his art was worthy of the title of shin’uchi.
Akane is finally able to show off her father’s rakugo to the world, but in doing so, she discovers there was something lacking…which means there’s a chance for his style and for herself to grow. After the four-person selection event, Kaisei has some harsh words for Akane, but they don’t deter her from continuing on her path alongside Shiguma’s other apprentices toward greater heights. Then, Akane is presented with the chance of a lifetime when a certain master who can help get her promoted to the rank of futatsume comes into the picture.

Mir gefällt, dass Akane riesige Fortschritte macht, aber nicht immer im ersten Anlauf ihr aktuell gesetztes Ziel erreicht. Das macht es nahbar und realistischer. Für ihr nächstes Ziel braucht sie die Empfehlung eines weiteren Meisters. Und der scheint eine ziemlich coole Socke zu sein 😃 Und hat eine Verbindung zu ihrem Vater. Während des Festes kommt Guriko eine für ihn bittere Erkenntnis (ich fand, man hat richtig gespürt, wie ihn die die Worte getroffen haben 🥺)und sucht Rat bei Meikeru. Und auch Meikeru hat sich nun ein neues Ziel gesetzt. Als ich damals die Ankündigung zum ersten Band las, hätte ich nie gedacht, dass die Reihe mich so fesseln würde. Ich kann nur immer wieder sagen, ich bin wirklich froh, der Reihe nach einigem Zögern doch eine Chance gegeben zu haben. Und das liebe ich so an Manga. Das Medium lässt mich auch Genre/Themen absolut genießen, die mich als reiner Roman einfach nicht packen können. Die ganzen Romance Titel, die ich als Manga gelesen habe, hätte ich als Roman gar nicht angerührt bzw. abgebrochen. Und ich bin mir sicher, auch Akane-banashi würde mich als Roman, ohne die bildliche Darstellung des Rakugo nicht packen können.
