While I love the world that this is set in, I have my problems with the story. I loved the first book and I wanted to read about the tournament and everything around it. I wasn't in for a conspiracy with multiple secret organisations who infiltrate everything with Eira smack in the middle of everything. But that is all this book is. One secret group chases the next and the tournament hasn't even started. Combine that with the romance that had me really cringe (I swear if that guy ends up with her in the end, I will scream). He himself remained completely colorless to me, I had no idea about his character other than Eira telling us how amazing he is. But the stunt he pulled at the end? Well that brought some color into things but I don't like. He is a complete ass and Eira is right to be furious with him. I would have another love interest in mind that could turn things around but I don't think that will be the turnout. If the next book would just be the tournament, I would be in. Since the secret organisations won't stop overshadowing everything, I will stop this series here. Which I am heartbroken about. If you're interested in this series, please give it a chance!
