Ich hab die Kleinstadt total geliebt – schrullige Einwohner, cozy Vibes und einfach ein Setting zum Wohlfühlen. Aber seien wir ehrlich: Der eigentliche Star war der Hund. Retter, bester Freund und ganz klar der Sympathieträger der Geschichte. Die Lovestory war süß, für mich aber eher Nebensache. Dafür hat sich alles leicht und angenehm lesen lassen. Und die Ex-Partner? Puh… Die waren beide einfach anstrengend – vielleicht sollten die lieber zusammenkommen. Fazit: Charmante Wohlfühlgeschichte mit viel Kleinstadtflair – aber der Hund hat allen die Show gestohlen.
A Girl’s Best Friend ist zwar ein eher klassisches Romance-Buch, hat mir aber insgesamt ziemlich gut gefallen. Besonders die Verbindung zu den Hunden hat der Geschichte viel Charme gegeben. Ella und Devon waren sympathische Hauptcharaktere, auch wenn sie stellenweise etwas schlicht wirkten. Das Buch ließ sich sehr leicht lesen und hatte ein gutes, angenehmes Pacing. Nur das Ende fühlte sich etwas gehetzt an. Sehr positiv fand ich, dass Ella und Devon erst eine echte Beziehung zueinander aufgebaut haben, bevor sie miteinander geschlafen haben. Dadurch wirkte die Romance glaubwürdiger und hatte mehr Gewicht. Emotional war das Buch süß und romantisch. Es hat mich zwar nicht stark aufgewühlt, war aber eine sehr angenehme und warme Lektüre für den Frühling.
