To me, he was everything.
My heart hasn't been the same since he disappeared, but I've learned to build my life around that missing piece.
Twenty-two years later, the last thing I expect is for that missing piece to come back.
His name is Oliver Lynch, and this is his story.
This is our story.

If you think this is your typical romance book + you are mistaken. There are a bunch of sad traumas innit and a god written (sad and devastating) story. So, please check trigger warnings just in case before reading. So we have Oliver and Syd - basically childhood sweethearts. But... Oliver was held captive for 22 YEARS beneath the floor of his kidnapper’s house and brainwashed into believing an atomic bomb had poisoned the air and the only way for him to be safe is to stay underground. The chapters flip between Sydney and Oliver’s pov in the present day after he escaped, but also in the past while he was held in captivity. OMG THE PLOT TWISTS! I should have realised, I am good at this but this BLOW. MY. MIND I legit had goosebumps while reading a literary a page turner! At the end you’ll find the meaning and importance of the word lotus, and it’s just everything.
Deswegen 2,5 Sterne
