Braden Mack thinks reading romance novels makes him an expert in love, but he'll soon discover that real life is better than fiction.

Liv Papandreas has a dream job as a sous chef at Nashville's hottest restaurant. Too bad the celebrity chef owner is less than charming behind kitchen doors. After she catches him harassing a young hostess, she confronts him and gets fired. Liv vows revenge, but she'll need assistance to take on the powerful chef.

Unfortunately, that means turning to Braden Mack. When Liv's blackballed from the restaurant scene, the charismatic nightclub entrepreneur offers to help expose her ex-boss, but she is suspicious of his motives. This is a job for the Bromance Book Club.

Action, Geheimnisse und Romance
Eine gute Kombination aus dem oben genannten. Es hat Spaß gemacht zu lesen und war eine tolle Story um die Jungs vom 'Secret Bookclub' besser kennenzulernen. Einziges Makel für mich - die Protagonistin war mir teilweise zu anstrengend...und ja sie sollte so sein, aber mir war es ab und zu einfach zu überzogen. Trotzdem schön zu lesen, aber erstmal werde ich die Reihe nicht fortsetzen ✨

Besser als Band 1
Bewertung: Highlight Hat mir besser gefallen als Band 1. Mack hilft Liv, ihren Ex-Chef der sexuellen Belästigung zu überführen, dabei kommen sich die beiden näher. Mit Liv bin ich zwar auch in diesem Band nicht warm geworden, aber sie und Mack waren eine gute Kombination und das Thema sexueller Missbrauch / Belästigung mit dem einhergehenden Machtgefälle ist so wichtig und gut eingebunden. Häusliche Gewalt wird ebenfalls thematisiert, sowie Feminismus und Sexismus. Die Buchclub-Männer sind sehr sympathisch, ich freue mich auf die folgenden Teile. Der Humor auch einfach sehr gut, hat mich immer wieder zum Lachen gebracht.

Ganz anders als Band 1 und das fand ich gut. Der Club stand etwas im Hintergrund und wurde erst zum Ende intensiver eingebaut. Stattdessen ging es um die Enemies to Lovers Story zwischen Liv und Mack, die Slow burn vibes für mich hatte. Man erfahrt viel über die Charakter gepaart mit Witz und Humor, aber auch Ernsthaftigkeit. Der Stil ist flüssig, locker und angenehm. Manches hätte für mich kürzer sein können, aber das ist Geschmacksache ☺️ Kann Teil 2 auch empfehlen.
