Sehr Schöne, realistische Geschichten! ⟡˖ ࣪
~~Dieses Buch war mein erstes englisches Buch und ich fand es wirklich schön! Ich fand es besonders schön, wie man immer etwas persönliches über die einzelnen Personen in eigenen Kapiteln erfahren hat 💌. Es waren sehr süße Geschichten und ich kann es definitiv weiterempfehlen! 📖🎐🌸˖ ᡣ𐭩
It’s really hard to rate this book. I must admit that I originally bought it because of its beautiful cover and the fact that it was written by a Japanese author. However, I have to say I was quite disappointed. I’ve already read some Japanese books before, but this one felt rather dry and a bit boring to me. We get to know six different characters, meaning six short stories that are only loosely connected to each other. I have to say that only two of them – chapters 3 and 4 – truly impressed me. The others were neither touching nor particularly interesting. I’m not sure whether it was the writing style or something else, but overall, the book was quite dull and definitely not a life-changing must-read.
Ich hatte mich auf The Convenience Store by the Sea gefreut, vor allem wegen der vielversprechenden, ruhigen Stimmung, die mich an ähnliche Bücher erinnert hat, die ich mochte. Tatsächlich hat mir das Setting auch gefallen – atmosphärisch, entschleunigt und mit einem gewissen melancholischen Charme. Trotzdem musste ich mich immer wieder zum Weiterlesen zwingen. Die Geschichte fühlte sich träge und wenig greifbar an. Die Figuren und ihre Handlungsstränge wirkten für mich zusammenhangslos, als würden sie nebeneinander herlaufen, ohne sich wirklich zu berühren. Die sehr langen Kapitel, die eher wie unabhängige Episoden wirkten, haben es zusätzlich erschwert, einen echten Lesefluss zu finden. Schade – ich hatte mir mehr erhofft und bin letztlich nicht in das Buch hineingekommen.
Ich bin etwas hin- und hergerissen zwischen 3,5 und 4 Sternen. Es gab 6 längere Kapitel und jedes Kapitel enthielt eine eigene Geschichte von jeweils anderen Personen die am Ende aber doch alle was miteinander zu tun hatten und die Geschichten waren alle so herzerwärmend. Bei den letzten beiden Kapiteln hätte ich gerne noch ein bisschen mehr Weihnachtsfeeling gehabt aber sonst wirklich ein sehr schönes Buch!
