Alone, and fighting for survival, the two women embark on a gruelling journey across land, sea and air in search of salvation.
But as they travel, Juna and Mai begin to understand Shroud's unnerving alien species. It also begins to understand them. If they escape Shroud, they'll somehow have to explain the impossible and translate the incredible. That is, if they make it back at all . . .

Ein spannendes Buch!
Adrian Tchaikovsky gehört zu einem meiner Lieblings Sci-Fi Buchautoren. Gerade seine Stand-Alone Bücher sind mir nie eine Enttäuschung gewesen. Bei Shroud geht es um einen neu entdeckten Mond, der komplett in Dunkelheit liegt. Unvorstellbar dass hier Leben entstehen kann. Und doch ist es reich an Leben. Dies müssen die beiden Protagonistinnen an eigenem Leid erfahren. Wir begleiten die beiden, auf dem Mond gestrandeten, Frauen und ihren Begleiter auf dem Versuch zurück zu finden. Es geht um Kommunikation, Missverständnisse, Überleben und auch die Gier des Menschen. Das Ende ging mir leider zu schnell. Es hörte abrupt auf und hinterlässt einen recht ratlos. Ich hätte mir hier etwas mehr Klarheit gewünscht. Nichts desto Trotz ein schönes und spannendes Ende, worauf schon früh hingedeutet wurde. Und trotzdem habe ich es recht späht kommen gesehen. Eine klare Empfehlung von mir!
