Mein Leseeindruck: Der Roman erzählt Ivys 80-jähriges Leben in sechs Tagen, 1938 - 1999 im englischen Sussex. Ivy, die 19-Jährige, einer liberalen Künstlerfamilie entstammend, hadernd mit sich. Jahrelang kämpft sie mit einem Ereignis, bei dem ein geliebter Mensch verschwindet und sie nur ein Licht sieht. Landet in einer einschränkenden Ehe, findet später die Lebenslust wieder in einer alten Bekannten. Verhandelt werden Fragen nach Schuld, Sehnsucht, Verlust, Zerrissenheit, verpasste Möglichkeiten, Selbstfindung, Träumen, Gefühlen. Was hat dies alles für Auswirkungen auf unseren Lebensweg, können wir unser Leben immer so ausleben, wie wir wollen? Wie gehen wird damit um? Wie geht es uns damit?
