About the book

The #1 New York Times bestselling follow-up to Eat, Pray, Love--an intimate and erudite celebration of love—from the author of Big Magic: Creative Living Beyond Fear.At the end of her memoir Eat, Pray, Love, Elizabeth Gilbert fell in love with Felipe, a Brazilian living in Indonesia. The couple swore eternal love, but also swore (as skittish divorce survivors) never to marry. However, providence intervened in the form of a U.S. government ultimatum: get married, or Felipe could never enter America again. Told with Gilbert's trademark humor and intelligence, this fascinating meditation on compatibility and fidelity chronicles Gilbert's complex and sometimes frightening journey into second marriage, and will enthrall the millions of readers who made Eat, Pray, Love a number one bestseller.

After Eat, Pray, Love Elizabeth's story continues, now being in love with Felipe, the Brazilian man she met in Indonesia. They're forced to marry because of the US government (or Felipe could never enter the USA again) and so Elizabeth is trying to find out everything about marriage because she wants to make it right this time. The book isn't as personal as her last one but still very good (I like it even better than Eat, Pray, Love). There are still about 80 pages ahead of me and I can't wait to go back reading ;) Now I'm through and I loved it :) Actually I was expecting a little more of the last chapter but it's still an incredibly sweet end. I would highly recommend this book for anyone being in a relationship, anyone married, anyone interested in the subject of marriage or anyone who just wants to know how the love story between Liz and Felipe continues after Eat, Pray, Love.

Eigentlich eine schöne Mischung aus einer persönlichen Geschichte und der allgemeinen Geschichte der Ehe, allerdings für mein Empfinden teils etwas langatmig.

Well, this definitely was not the sequel I was hoping for... Lots of rambling about different perspectives on marriage made it feel more like I was reading a dictionary.
