About John Gordon

John William Gordon (19.11.1925–20.11.2017) war ein englischer Autor. Er schrieb sechzehn unheimliche Jugendbücher, darunter The Giant Under the Snow und The House on the Brink. Seine Werke wurden in viele Sprachen übersetzt. In den meisten seiner Romane stehen Teenager im Mittelpunkt. Sie spielen oft in den Fens, einer Umgebung, die Gordon in seiner eigenen Jugend als geheimnisvoll und inspirierend empfand, und enthalten Elemente der englischen Folklore. Nach einem langen Kampf mit der Alzheimer-Krankheit starb Gordon im Alter von 92 Jahren in Norwich, der Stadt, in der er einen Großteil seines Lebens gelebt und gearbeitet hat.
