The Book of Acts with Translation and Commentary

Dr. Luke continues his narrative of the Gospel of Luke in this historical account of the beginning of the Church through the acts of the Holy Spirit we call the Book of Acts. The Book reveals the truth of the Gospel not only for the Jews bound to the minutiae of the Law, but for the Gentiles consumed by their pursuit of the divine they did not know and the meaning and purpose of Life which frustrated them. Luke's account of the early formation, successes, and suffering of the Church in its first 35 years traces the lives of the Apostle Peter, Deacon Stephen, and the Apostle Saul/Paul. Dr. Spencer explores the transformative development of the Jerusalem Church through Peter's influence, the rise of Christian Hellenism through the dynamic ministry of Stephen, and the church planting efforts among the Diaspora Jews and Gentiles throughout the Roman Empire through the brilliant Rabbi Saul/Paul from Tarsus. David M. Spencer, received his theological training from Oral Roberts University (B.A., M.A. in Theology) and from Assemblies of God Theological Seminary (D.Min.). He pursued his medical and surgical training boarding in pediatrics (Univ. of Oklahoma), in dermatology (Ohio State University), in Mohs micrographic surgery and in cosmetic surgery (University of Arkansas), and in metabolic and functional medicine (Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine). He resides in Winston-Salem, N.C. with his wife Donna and serves as a teaching pastor at Winston-Salem First Assembly of God.
