Über das Buch

A New York Times, Washington Post, and USA Today bestseller.

Everyone's favorite lethal SecUnit is back in the next installment in Martha Wells's bestselling and award-winning Murderbot Diaries series.

Am I making it worse? I think I'm making it worse.

Following the events in Network Effect, the Barish-Estranza corporation has sent rescue ships to a newly-colonized planet in peril, as well as additional SecUnits. But if there's an ethical corporation out there, Murderbot has yet to find it, and if Barish-Estranza can't have the planet, they're sure as hell not leaving without something. If that something just happens to be an entire colony of humans, well, a free workforce is a decent runner-up prize.

But there's something wrong with Murderbot; it isn't running within normal operational parameters. ART's crew and the humans from Preservation are doing everything they can to protect the colonists, but with Barish-Estranza's SecUnit-heavy persuasion teams, they're going to have to hope Murderbot figures out what's wrong with itself, and fast!

Yeah, this plan is... not going to work.

    Murderbot goes social-ish?

After a longer break with other books following the binge of murderbot books i've returned and oh my god. This book's diary style is so terrible. It took me almost 100 pages to get back into it. The sloppy written diary entries with all sorts of non standard scentence structures threw me off so hard that i wondered for about an hour if I really ever liked this series and why I own every single one. Turns out, the book became good after i adjusted my expectations and god accustomed to the style again, but i have to say, after reading so many other brilliant books in the meantime, that martha can not write. The book is only good because of its setup and has long lost its novelty and drifted more and more into the socializing murderbot instead of the socializing socially awkward one that we all so loved in the beginning. At least this book has a somewhat unique story going for it that neetly ties into its prequel.

So I did stall a little before picking up the 7th book, because it is the last one out so far. I do hope there will be more, but I have no clue. I was super happy that this was another full length novella. Like all the others this started right in the action. And because it actually has something to do with the previous book, it might have been not the best idea to wait this long to pick this one up. I can only repeat my statements from before: I love Murderbot and ART and their humans. The inner monologue of our favorite bot will never not be entertaining. Even in the most extreme situations.

    Ich brauche mehr!

Ich bin absolut nicht bereit mich von Murderbot und seinen Menschen zu verabschieden. Diese Reihe macht mir so unfassbar viel Spaß.
