I can't deeply express enough, how much my heart was racing throughout this whole book. I couldn't put it the fuck down. Sick Boys literally puts me on the edge of my seat from chapter one all the way to it's bonus book. Fair warning, I had just finished reading a very fluffy sweet rom-com book, and coming directly into this book was.. Let's just say I felt the transition. It's dark, dark, dark. The bullying felt so dark somehow, in the beginning there was a lot of demeaning and knife-plays. And my heart was doing jumping jacks because reading the chapters felt so surreal somehow. I really really liked Clarissa Wild's writing style. I loved the plot to this book as well in general. Sure, it was told in a first person's POV, but we, readers, wouldn't be able to know shit until Clarissa deems us worthy enough of the truth to Pen's character and after we just got emotionally tortured. Never have I ever in a dark romance book very much relate to how Pen's character feels and actually understands fully why she feels the way she feels, especially towards the very morally grey characters. I was so frustrated with these boys because of their blind devotion towards 'blood runs thicker than water' bullshit. One question though, why, in the all mighty, did Eve choose to off herself? She could've run away and chose to raise the child herself.. Or maybe that's selfish of me to think it that way? Maybe she didn't and wouldn't live in a world where she couldn't be with these boys. Still.. I don't know. It's still weird for me. If her and Pen's dad is basically a Robin Hood superhero, why wouldn't she come to him? I don't know, it's still not sitting too right with me. All in all, I would actually need to read another fluff stuff before I can continue on with this series. Don't get me wrong, it's a damn good book. But if you think your heart won't be doing jumping jacks during and after reading this book, you're dead wrong.
