An interesting new view on the devil's bargain. A rich man gains the ability to "deal with the universe". Semmler gets whatever he wishes for by sacrificing something of equal value to him. It starts simple, he sacrifices a golden lighter to find his lost car keys, but soon his wishes grow - and so do the sacrifices. And he loses more and more...The moral of this novel is quite simple: be careful what you wish for. Even if your sacrifices are accepted and your wishes are granted, things could go horribly wrong. Could you resist the temptation to make your wishes come true? Can you imagine the consequences of your sacrifices?I will definately try other books by the author.
