Neurons Narratives Nomoi

Much of what is called philosophy nowadays is nothing but the mask of all too unphilosophical orthodoxies; produced by minds that have succumbed to illusions of citing philosophers being the same as thinking philosophically. This book, Neurons, Narratives and Nomoi, takes the philosophical quest for truth seriously. It contains core academic writings from Nikodem Skrobisz' philosophy studies in Munich from the years of 2020 to 2026. All these essays have one thing in common at their core, one Ariadne's thread, in their quest for truth: They strive to overcome the Cartesian split; to grasp human beings, we seemingly enlightened beasts, holistically. To this end, his work attempts to connect the strands that have been severed by uprooted postmodern thinking with the findings of today's science; reconnecting cognition, shaped by narratives and myths, with the ever-swirling chains of biocultural immanence of memes, genes and neurons.
