I don't know how to properly do this review... Until like 20 pages before finishing I was convinced this review would basically consist of me fangirling about this book being one of the few contemporary reads I have ever adored. And I still want to do that, if I put the ending aside for a moment. If I do, "Sweethearts" is a very beautiful, touching story of two special souls who have lost each other and are now reunited again. I didn't really like Jenna's friends or her Highschool life a lot, some of it felt too stereotypical and somewhat silly, or just unimportant in comparison to her connection to Cameron. I loved the scenes, the atmosphere, the understanding between those two unique characters so much that Ethan's stupidity or Katy's annoying presence did not bother me the slightest bit. Then there was the ending. The ending ruined it for me. Without spoiling the book, I can't tell why that is so, but all I now feel is disappointment.
