Also ich muss sagen, ich hätte mir definitiv etwas mehr Interaktion zwischen Ellie und Andrew gewünscht, aber abgesehen davon, war es ein wirklich wunderschönes Buch mit einer sehr tollen Geschichte. Alle Protagonistinnen und Protagonisten sind so unglaublich authentisch und nahbar gewesen. Die Autorin hat es wirklich geschafft eine tolle Weihnachtsgeschichte zu erschaffen, die zugleich kitschig und authentisch ist. Und vor allem hat sie es geschafft eine Geschichte zu schreiben, in der Körper genau so beschrieben werden, wie sie auch wirklich sind: nicht perfekt und genau deswegen wunderschön.

Ich habe dieses Buch als Hörbuch gehört und ich mochte die Sprecherin und die Geschichte sehr. Ein tolles Buch mit einer guten queeren Lovestory

Tropes: – second chance – “last Christmas I gave you my heart, but the next day you gave it away“ – fake fiancés sister (yeah it‘s messy, the good kind) – social anxiety – rep of ADHD – rom com
I think I have found my Christmas book of this year! “Kiss her once for me“ is in my opinion such a delightful read – it‘s a Christmas read, but at the same time not too much of a Christmas read. I especially love how messy it is. Ellie fell in love with a woman she met one year ago and is still hung up on her. In the year that passed, her life has basically got up in flames, or at least that how it feels to her. So when she is given the opportunity, she agrees to play the fake fiancé of a man she just went out with, and join him on a Christmas vacation with his family – where she gets to meet the woman from last year again…it‘s messy like I said, and that makes it so very charming in my opinion. The characters are so unique and delightful, and I liked each of them, including the family dynamic. 4–4.5/5⭐️ 🌶️🌶️/5
