Chocolate, vanilla, existential horror, addiction, musical fantasy...there’s a flavor for everyone’s misery.
Each installment features its own cast of strange characters, dealing with their own special sundae of suffering. And on the periphery of all of them, like the twinkly music of his colorful truck, is the Ice Cream Man—a weaver of stories, a purveyor of sweet treats. Friend. Foe. God. Demon. The man who with a snap of his fingers—lickety split!—can change the course of your life forever.
Written by W. MAXWELL PRINCE (ONE WEEK IN THE LIBRARY), with art by MARTíN MORAZZO (SNOWFALL, GREAT PACIFIC).
Collects issues 1-4.

I have to admit I wasn't quite sure what rating to give to this. I loved the first issue but after that it just went downhill. Overall, the story is about a bunch of people in a small town being confronted with all sorts of personal horrors, covering themes like drug addiction, failed careers, and the death of a loved one. While each story is independent with its own set of characters, they're connected by the appearance of an ice cream man who in some way inflicts their problems. The issue with it is that at this point, the author doesn't seem to know where he wants the story to go which makes everything seem a little messy at points. Still, the premise looks good and promising, so I'm gonna give Volume 2 a shot. Issue #1: 4.5 stars Issue #2-4: 2 stars Overall rating: 2.5 stars
