What's the autobiography of a prostitute doing in the Collection of Classic Erotica? I asked myself this very question while weighing its suitability for the collection. On the one hand, it's nonfiction, specifically memoir. On the other, it was entirely an invention, a fabrication, its putative narrator a creation of my own mind.
