Grenzenlose Solidarität durch grenzüberschreitende Kooperation?

In times of increasing worker's mobility and a growing number of cross-border commuters within the European Union, the cross-border labour markets are facing a large scientific interest. This book concentrates on trade union cross-border cooperation as trade unions also have to deal with these new transnational realities which are influencing the daily life of employees in many sectors. Two cases from the Greater Region and the Scandinavian Oresund region are used to determine the challenges and functioning of interregional trade union cooperation from the perspectives of cultural studies and industrial sociology. The focus of this work lies on the intercultural communication and acting as well as regional organizational specifics of these two cases. While a comparative analysis of the differing regional systems of industrial relations, the treated topics, established cross-border networks and a microanalysis of intercultural interacting lead to highly interesting results, the necessity of intercultural awareness for every stakeholder in cross-border trade union cooperation becomes obvious, and recommendations for future acting and training will be given.
