Lemony Snicket ist der Autor der populären Buchreihe »Eine Reihe betrüblicher Ereignisse« (auf Deutsch auch »Die schaurige Geschichte von Violet, Sunny und Klaus«). Aus den ersten drei Büchern der Reihe ist ein Kinofilm mit Jim Carrey und Meryl Streep (2004) entstanden. Eine Netflix-Serie (2017–2019), die auf der Buchreihe basiert, gibt es ebenfalls. Das Besondere an der Reihe ist ihr schwarzer Humor und die vielen Anspielungen auf andere literarische Werke. Lemony Snicket ist ein Pseudonym des Schriftstellers Daniel Handler.
