I loved it! It gave me major fanfiction vibes but with novel writing quality.
It was great to basically understand all the fandom and fanfic references. It was a really fun read. But I can imagine that if someone never read fanfics they could encounter “weird words and sentences”.

I really enjoyed Alex and Devons' story! I must've watched plenty of crime series episodes where people start getting murdered like in a book. But this is the first supernatural focused book I've ever listened to with a similar setup. And turning it into a romance. It was fun to follow along with them, figuring out what did and didn't carry over from the 'source material' and how to deal with it in real life. The characters felt really well set up and consistent through the story, even once they started growing because of each other. All in all: fun book on fan-culture, facing uncomfortable truths and the fact that life won't stop requiring change past your twenties.
