This book follows 16-year-old Kiki, a gamer girl who is starting at a new school. But when Kiki finds out her online bestie also goes there, she worries she's in trouble. Because Kiki has been playing as a guy online, and she thinks she might like Sourdawg.
It was a cute rom com book!! It was pretty nice but sometimes it just felt like I was reading a Wattpad fanfic written by a teenager (which can also be good yk😭) but for example I found this "Mwahahah" sometimes kinda cringe like you could just explain it or not repeating it so often but idk. It was very good tho, a good mix of fluff and angst and it was really nice that an important message was about women/girls - the injustice, bullying, cyber bullying was very nice cause I haven’t read something where this topic is a subject brought up a lot.

Wow, what a funny and at the same time sad book. Very well written and the storyline is immaculate.
I really really liked this book. Even though it took me a while to get into Kiki‘s world, once I was, I felt every word and emotion with her. What I find fascinating is the way Jesse Q. Sutanto made me laugh quite a few times although bullying and sexism are still such a serious and topical issue. The whole time I read the book, I wondered about how/if/when she‘s going to tell him the truth and the way it came out is just so cruel and a lot of the times I really felt sorry for her. But it‘s even more beautiful to see her grow as a character and regain her self confidence to get back at everyone who did her so wrong, i.e. Jonas and the principal and in such a cool way too, thanks to the little aunties <3. I would 100% recommend this book and hope I can convince my manga loving best friend to read it, ly <3

Süßer Roman
Der Roman ist süß gehalten ohne zu langweilig zu werden, da viel passiert. Es war teilweise etwas komisch, da "gah", "mwahahaha" oder ähnliches in den Gadanken ausgesprochen wurden. Es macht zwar deutlicher, dass man so den Gedanken eines Teenagers folgt, es hätte aber auch ohne die Ausdrücke funktioniert. Wen so etwas nicht stört und eine süße Handlung mit ein paar twists lesen möchte, ist hier genau richtig. Auch wenn es manchmal etwas vorhersehbar war, finde ich das Buch dennoch gut, da es schön geschrieben ist und sich gegen den Sexismus (insbesondere in asiatischen Kulturn) und Mobbing stellt. Dadurch hat es einen gewissen Vorbildcharakter und zeigt uns, dass es wichtig ist für sich selbst einzustehen.
