Broken Paragraphs breaks down between prose and poetry. This collection breaks down into sections that deal with marital love, youth, racism, suicide, death, imprisonment and writing. Lawrence doesn't seem to have a firm simplistic grip on reality as he sways between the inner and outer worlds but in his writing, he is trying to understand himself and his place in the world. Outspoken and forthright, this collection confronts and challenges the current climate of political language amongst society.
