mr. hutchinson, i owe you my entire life for writing this book. it's my second finished book by this author and i'm so SO glad i've decided to read it. i can't even describe how important it is. this memoir mainly deals with homophobia and suicide, and the author talks about these topics with such a delicate way. i appreciate that he acknowledges that some of the book's content can trigger a reader. i listened to the audiobook narrated by shaun david hutchinson himself and it made the experience 10 times better. he seems like such a nice person and i really like his humor and style of narration. this book was hard to read during the parts in which the author talked about his internalised homophobia. it hit really close to home because i struggled with internalised homophobia as well. but it was so refreshing to read about it at the same time. shaun david hutchinson just writes in a way that makes you feel understood and supported.
