One of NYPL's Best New Comics of 2023 for Adults
We are all haunted by our own stories…
Deep in the Pacific Ocean, at the farthest possible distance from any land, sits Point Nemo: the spaceship graveyard. Since the dawn of the space race, the nations of the world have sent their crafts there on splashdown, to sink beneath the silent seas. But there is something…else at Point Nemo. A structure never made by human hands. And that structure seems to be…waking up.
The crew of the experimental submarine Andromeda, powered by a mysterious black-hole drive, have been chosen to investigate this mystery. But they aren’t the only ones pursuing it. Anything of value beneath the ocean is of interest to the master pirate Black Manta… and anything that attracts Black Manta attracts Arthur Curry, his lifelong foe, the Aquaman! But heaven help them all when the doors of the mystery at Point Nemo swing wide to admit them in…
Ram V (Venom, The Swamp Thing) and Christian Ward (Thor, Invisible Kingdom) team up to put Arthur Curry through an exercise in psychological terror that could break the will of even a king!
Collects the complete miniseries Aquaman: Andromeda #1-3.

Secrets beneath the Waves story: In the first issue of Ram V's new Black Label title "Aquaman Andromeda" a mysterious spaceship crashes into the deepest point of the sea: "Point Nemo". A top-secret mission of selected experts uses the submarine "Andromeda" to scout the situation. Soon they must realize: They're not alone in the cold depths. Something seems to be scanning them and not only that but the king of the sea is watching as well... rating: Ram V puts a refreshing horror twist to Aquaman. No better way to start of a horror storyline than a creepy child song - really liked this. Meanwhile nobody seems to know of Aquaman himself which strengthens his mysterious position as "King of the Sea" and delivers another terrifying plot point. All in all there isn't much to say regarding the plot as this first issue is really just a setup. However the art style is amazing and really merges you into this narrow space beneath the surface. This could become one of my favorite black label stories. Let's wait for the next issue. conclusion: Aquaman with a horror twist - nice setup for an Aquaman Elseworld saga. 5/5
