Mariana Zapata - Queen of slow burn romance 🔥

Slow burn at its finest!

This book was the definition of a slow burn, and I mean a very slow burn. You definitely need some patience for this one, but overall, it was a solid read. I absolutely loved Vanessa. She is so strong in knowing exactly what she wants out of life and has the drive to achieve it. Aidan, on the other hand, was a bit of a challenge for me. I honestly couldn't stand him for almost the first half of the book, but he eventually grew on me, and I ended up liking him much more than I expected. Also, I have to mention Zac. He was such a funny and adorable character who really brightened up the story for me. If I’m being honest, though, there were a few things that tested my patience. The chapters felt super long to me, and I think the story would have flowed better if they were a bit shorter. Also, I definitely understood that Aidan was "big and muscular" the first time it was mentioned, I didn’t really need the constant reminders. I also found myself wishing they would just communicate more. I would have given anything to get some chapters from Aidan’s perspective just to understand his past and what was going on in his head. Even with this being said, it was still a good read. If you have the patience for a long, steady climb to a "happily ever after," you’ll definitely enjoy this one!
