Beschreibung

In The Son of Neptune, Percy, Hazel, and Frank met in Camp Jupiter, the Roman equivalent of Camp Halfblood, and traveled to the land beyond the gods to complete a dangerous quest. The third book in the Heroes of Olympus series will unite them with Jason, Piper, and Leo. But they number only six--who will complete the Prophecy of Seven?
The Greek and Roman demigods will have to cooperate in order to defeat the giants released by the Earth Mother, Gaea. Then they will have to sail together to the ancient land to find the Doors of Death. What exactly are the Doors of Death? Much of the prophecy remains a mystery. . . . With old friends and new friends joining forces, a marvelous ship, fearsome foes, and an exotic setting, The Mark of Athena promises to be another unforgettable adventure by master storyteller Rick Riordan.

It's still a pretty easy 5/5 for me. The pacing of this book is so good, especially in the latter half, the suspense that gets built up is incredible. Even tho or maybe because i knew what was coming i was dreading the ending, my heart racing for the final 35% of this book. It managed to grip me the entire time even tho especially the beginning was a classic heroes journey. I think something really remarkable that this book manages to convey is the relationship between the 7. Because you might THINK they would be an incredible team right away but it is very clear the entire time that they don't fully trust each other because they don't KNOW each other. They've been thrown in this quest together, the seven most powerful demigods alive, and are supposed to work as a team but really, they are strangers. I think the constant bickering, the distrust and inability to talk openly a lot of the times really shows they have a way to go to work as a team, which in my opinion makes the payoff even better. And then not to say this is possibly the only ending in a Rick book ever. If I catch you Rick, if I catch you. (BTW it was somehow even worse this time around even tho I knew what was coming so keep that in mind) Yeah all in all just a great book, the best in the series if there wasn't the next book lol.

I wasn't engaged like I was with the other books. Also, why did it take so long to get to Annabeth's quest?

I knew it would end like this because i got spoiled but omg?! What the heck Rick Riordan, king of cliffhangers… I don’t even know how to rate this book because I started this book when I was in a reading slump, which made it feel like a chore to read but I finished it whilst NOT in a reading slump and absolutely loved the last 60%. I’d probably have to say the first 40% get a 3 star rating (only because of my reading slump) and the last 60% get a 4,75 star rating. Percabeth was definitely what carried this book, ugh I just love them so much and I will actually pass away if we ever see the two of them fall into Tartatus together in the show, even though the actors will probably be like 30 by then lmao. Speaking of Percabeth here are my favorite quotes Percy Jackson is just THAT book boyfriend. We all deserve someone who’d fall into the deepest depths of Tartarus for us !! "The fate of the world might depend on it. But part of him wanted to say: Forget the world. He didn’t want to be without her." "We’re staying together," he promised. "You’re not getting away from me. Never again.", "As long as we’re together.", she said. Then Percy let go of the tiny ledge and together, holding hands, he and Annabeth fell into the endless darkness." 4,5 stars ✨

i dont know how to properly articulate my thoughts about the mark of athena everything is just perfect, wait no, it's beyond perfect, it there's a word that is more powerful than the world perfect, that's the mark of athena. rick riordan really knows what he is doing, his story telling just keeps getting badass in every book. the character development is really strong, in a short period of time you can easily saw the difference between the PJO Percy and Annabeth and the HOO Percy and Annabeth, the new characters has finally proven they're worth, they finally proved that they are not just ordinary demigods that some goddess randomly picked to be part of the prophecy, they have their own skills and abilities and together they are unbeatable, and most of all their flaws is just so powerful -- it makes them more real and more fragile, which is important for their development. the world building is superb, it seems that rick riordan is cooking an exquisite dish and he keeps on adding new and interesting and strong ingredients to the story, and he knows how to use this ingredients. he is really the myth master. and again the twists and turns in this book is superbly planned and written and imagined. waaaaaaaaaaaaaaah i cannot properly articulate my thoughts about this because the ending is just dxrdtfgtyhjkdfhjsgahfdjsg now i have to wait for another year to know what's going to happen next...
