I always wanted to read this one, and finally managed to do it. It was interesting to read because I’ve seen the Disney adaption from 1993 as a child and still remembered some things. Since I was familiar with some parts of the „Adventures“, it was fun and thrilling at the same time. It was a little tricky at first getting used to the writing. The book was first published in 1884, and Twain made use of several dialects that were somewhat harder to read. It gets easier, I think, the further along you get. I remember Huckleberry Finn and Tom Sawyer from my childhood. So, because of melancholic reasons but not only, I already liked them. And honestly, they’re up to no good. It’s so much fun reading about their adventures and the stupid things they do. Jim has probably left the greatest impression on me. He’s a slave to Miss Watson, both of them living with the Widow Douglas and Huck. He’s an interesting character and really grew on me. Overall, a fun, enjoyable experience.
