Beschreibung

Smap3D Piping automates the creation and modification of piping routes within SolidWorks. Based on 3D sketches, pipes are generated with just a few mouse clicks. The pre-defined pipe specifications contain all necessary information, such as the pipe standard, fittings, material, insulation or pressure ratings. Drawings can then be derived from the created assemblies with the common SolidWorks functionality using views, dimensions, parts lists, etc. This book concentrates on the program introduction and shows the reader the basic operation of Smap3D Piping. This includes the creation and modification of pipe routes and parts libraries. As a supplement and pre-stage to the official Smap3D training, this book is suitable to get a first impression of the software and its functionality. The readers should thus be able to evaluate whether this software product is a reasonable investment and fits their own requirements.

Autorenbeschreibung

Matthias Bosse completed an apprenticeship as a draftsman and then a bachelor's and master's degree at the Cologne University of Applied Sciences in the field of process and supply engineering. During his training and later professional career, he gained experience with various CAD software (including SolidWorks, AutoCAD, MagiCAD, MicroStation, TurboCAD) and subsequently got to know the different working methods and program designs. As a mechanical engineer in shipbuilding in Hamburg, he came in contact with the software SolidWorks. He quickly familiarized himself with it through training and the almost daily use of the software. He currently works as an independent design engineer under the name of CryoCAD Consulting & Engineering (www.cryocad.com) and offers design services in the areas of mechanical engineering and plant design as well as offering TurboCAD and SolidWorks training.
