Warum liest man nicht mehr von dem Buch?

Ich bin Thriller- Neuling, daher kam diese Novelle gerade recht. Ich habe extra langsam gelesen und alles in mich aufgesogen. Das Buch war fantastisch. Das Ende habe ich nicht erahnen können - das hat mich absolut staunen lassen. Auf jeden Fall sollten man mal in das Genre schnuppern und diese Novelle lesen. An das Buch werde ich noch länger denken und gerne nochmal meine Markierungen nachlesen!

Ich hab das Buch innerhalb einer Nacht durchgelesen, weil ich einfach nicht aufhören konnte. Die Geschichte hat mich komplett in sich reingezogen, das Setting war unglaublich schaurig und teilweise hab ich mich richtig gegruselt. Die ganze Story ist voller Geheimnisse, manche davon errät man schon vor den Charakteren, manchmal wurde ich von der Autorin aber auch auf eine falsche Fährte geführt. Es gibt keinen Protagonisten in diesem Buch, der in irgendeiner Weise sympathisch ist. Dadurch fragt man sich als Lesende auch ständig wie reliable das ist was man grade liest. Am Ende saß ich einfach nur geschockt da und habe mich gefragt was Fakt und was Fiktion ist.

This story was at first „only“ interesting, as it proceeded sometimes a little boring, yet continously captivating (Yay for short chapters and multiple POVs!), but at the end: Mind blowing! A great book! There were quite a few nice thoughts, too: „Life is all about choices, and learning how to put ourselves back together when we fall apart.“ (page 11) „Sometimes it is best to let people think you you will follow them, until you are certain that you won't be lost on your own“ (page 90) My personal favorite: „If you never give up on something you can't ever fail.“ (page 269) Well that‘s an ass kicking change on perspepctive, isn‘t it 😁

Really liked the way this was told! Even though the story stars a little slow at first, it does pick up after a few chapters! I quite enjoyed coming up with theories for what was happening but was wrong with everyone of them! The twist was really thought through and was told really well! Nonetheless, I had a few issues with how this all wrapped up in the end - there could have been more explanation for the last two chapters. But I really enjoyed the writing style and had a good time with this book. Will definitely read more from Alice Feeney in the future! ⭐️ 3,5/5 stars ⭐️

Niemand ist so wie er scheint. Dieses Buch ist fantastisch geschrieben - eloquent, spannend, kurzweilig, und mit einigen unerwarteten Wendungen. Kann ich nur empfehlen :)

Fast-paced thriller with good plot twists, thoroughly enjoyed it

Dieses Buch war ein absoluter Mind-Blow. Die kurzen Kapitel haben mich so durch das Buch fliegen lassen. Das Ende hat mich komplett aus den Socken gehauen. Musste ernsthaft überlegen, direkt nochmal von vorne zu starten, um alle versteckten Hinweise zu checken🤪 Fand die Mitte zwar etwas schleppend, aber die letzten 80 Seiten habe ich einfach weggesnackt 💯 3,5⭐️/5⭐️
