Got better at the very end
Well, the book IS about the same as the movie, still I liked Hitchcock's interpretation better. In some passages the book seems to be written very quickly (and it was, indeed), so a few changes in the opinions, speeches or moods of the characters don't appear too realistic. Still, it's an interesting read (especially for fans of the movie) as there are a few turns in the story, Hitchcock didn't take up. There are long parts showing Norman Bate's view of the events, for example, which depict his really sick mind and are sometimes quite nasty. It surely isn't a light book for reading in between, but pure horror having mental illness as its main character...and it's frightening! :)
Sehr netter Thriller. Liest sich schnell und angenehm, habe ihn in einem durchgelesen. Leider kannte ich das Ende bereits. Trotzdem gut gemacht.
