Schwanke zwischen 1 und 2 Sternen Konnte mich leider nicht überzeugen Teeniegeschichten a la "Ich weiß was du letzten Sommer getan hast" sind wohl einfach nicht mehr meins (irgendwann wird man vielleicht einfach zu alt....) War mir oft zu abstrus, zu eintönig, zu repetitiv, zu langatmig, zu seltsam.... Wenn man sich zum Lesen überwinden muss, bzw es sich nicht wie Genuss, sondern eher Frust und Anstrengung anfühlt, sagt das schon so ziemlich alles über das Buch aus Das Buch wird mein Regal verlassen
I discovered "Neverworld Wake" by chance in a bookstore and found the blurb very exciting to read. Bees' boyfriend is dead and understandably, she has withdrawn from everyone and mourned for the last year. However, the circumstances of his death are mysterious and so one day Bee finds herself on her way to a meeting of her former friends - who are, by the way, all rather annoying characters - in the hope to find some answers. However, in the course of the evening, an accident occurs and she and her friends die - without realising it ... I really liked the story itself. I haven't read many books on this subject, so I was all the more curious to see how the whole thing would turn out. Sadly, however, I thought that the ending rather was disappointing (personally I don't quite understand why they choose how they choose, but maybe I missed some details that lead to the descision). Moreover, as mentioned before, Bees friends were quite annoying and I didn't buy it from the author that they were all friends during their school days. Nevertheless, I really enjoyed reading the story and would recommend it to anyone. In summary, I give "Neverworld Wake" 3.5 stars.

Da ich es leider nicht mehr geschafft hab dieses Buch im alten Jahr zu beenden wird es mein erstes Buch für 2019. Und ich bin wirklich froh drüber. Die Geschichte rund um Neverworld Wake hat mich absolut begeistert. Das Ende war richtig spannend und hat mich zum Nachdenken angeregt. Am Anfang hatte ich etwas Schwierigkeit mit dem Schreibstil, aber nachdem ich mich daran gewöhnt hab war es kein Problem mehr. Das war auf jeden Fall ein guter Start ins Lesejahr 😌
