I really liked the first book so of course I wanted to know, what will happen after the cliffhanger in book 1! Needless to say, I was not disappointed, even though the first half felt veeeery long. It still had me hooked enough to read further and for me it was worth the wait! I won't go much into detail and won't spoiler much, but the plottwist?! Holy cow, didn't expected THAT! I also liked to learn a little about Alexandria and some of the real people who lived at the end of the book. I also liked how Isabel included the fictional characters in the epilogue as well. All in all, its a nice dilogy for every history lover who likes a little romance, a little suspense and a little magic in a story!
